Just found this substack, so you may have mentioned this in another article, but there's a really strong Old Testament passage about the Phoenicians, found in Ezekiel 26-28. At that time, Tyre was the capital of the Phoenician empire, and in this passage they are directly connected with Lucifer.
Thank you for this interesting article. I had no idea of the Carthaginian Theory. It gives a much better explanation of events. It's difficult to accuse the Romans of a lack of brutality and efficiency, but they could have done a much better job on Carthage and Judea.
